Change, Happiness, Success And Our Core Values

The saying that "change is the only constant thing in this world" holds profound meaning in every sense of the word. Backed by this universal truth is also the dictum that there is no such thing as 'forever'. However, amidst all these acclaimed universal truths, there are things in this world that stay eternal: Our Core Values.

NEWSFLASH!!!! Children In Britain "Taught How To Be Happy"

Dear Friends

I hope you continue everyday to pursue your inner peace and happiness.

Happiness is such a vital factor in our daily life; so vital that even elementary and secondary youngsters in Britain are NOW being "taught how to be happy". True? Yes, indeed! In the International Express Newspaper(29 May 2007) issue which i was about to throw in the rubbish bin, I came across this amazing and intriguing news that has caught my interest.

So in Britain apparently, the "SCHEME to help some of Britain's most underpriveledged children to find happiness is to be rolled out across the country." Three years ago, the Morpeth Road Primary School in Blyth, Northumberland was struggling with poor attendance and behaviour. Now, the youngsters are taught to work at school and they get a lot of fun! The so-called "emotion lessons" have proven to be a success in the trials, according to the teachers hence, they have hailed them as miracle.

Teachers give the youngsters exercises to show them how to tackle problems, talk to each other properly, and how to make up after a failing out - alongside lessons in old-fashioned manners. This to me sounds interesting and encouraging for growing children. Learning new skills while young will give them a better life in the future to look forward to.

And results? It led to a dramatic improvement of academic achievement, attendance and behaviour of the classes. Their social skills improved by extended lunch hours where they sit round the tables to eat and chat with adults about a variety of topics which further improved their understanding as well as boosting their morale.

Proud of such an achievement, Headmaster Mike Bell believes that the Social And Emotional Aspects Of Learning (SEAL) Program was indeed "pivotal" in turning his school around.

The school adopted a house system patterened after the current phenomenal Harry Potter-style "houses" dividing children into three to help them with a sense of belonging and giving them a constant houseteacher to help them with pastoral care. Mr. Bell said that most of their kids come with some sort of baggage as the area is a disadvantaged area, therefore the staff are qualified in "emotional intelligence", Mr. Bell said.

The essential issue of the happiness of school children has taken their Government by storm and their Ministers believe that "social and emotional intelligence" classes will help stop children from becoming "louts" (rough, rude, violent persons). Further recommendation is to urge all secondary schools to put them in timetables for 11 to 14-year olds. This is indeed a novel idea, don't you think so, my dear and valued friends?

THAILAND: A Place Of People Full of Joy and Smiles

Dear Friends

How is everyone? I hope you are all doing well. I haven't updated my blog for about a few weeks. I have been to Thailand - Phuket, Pattaya and Bangkok from 8 June and back home to Australia on 28th of June, 12:30am.

But really, the main reason why I couldn't update my blog was - internet connection in Thailand - especially in Pattaya region was frustrating. People say it is an effect of the tsunami that hit and devastated Thailand on December 26, 2005. It was a distressing experience for me, my husband and also to some of our International Speaker friends and Internet Marketing Entrepreneurs who went to Thailand for Trainings, Workshops and Coachings.

It was indeed a very productive trip and a rich experience to meet people from all over the world - in Thailand for three weeks! Now we have more new friends to include in our lives - friends that contribute to both our happiness and success - now and in the future.

Anyway, the poor internet access was the downside of our trip because we could not fully communicate globally as we would have wanted to. But one thing amusing when I got hold of the laptap and I was able to open my blog.....guess what??? Everything was written in the Thai language!!! And what do you think I did? Switched off the laptap, of course! I couldn't do anything! Can't read one Thai letter, mind you! What an irony, really! But overall, it was a lovely, exciting, fun-filled, entertaining and educational trip to the Land of Elephants, Land of exotic Orchids and Land of Historic Buddhist Temples.

The Kingdom of Thailand has unsurpassed beauty and bounty. It is a place of people full of joy and smiles, welcoming visitors from far away lands with open arms. People are warm and very welcoming to both locals and tourists. They are people who exude inner peace in a secure and relaxed environment.

The month of June being in the rainy season, oftentimes our days were wet yet thrilling amidst the humid temperature that was rather uncomfortable.

In Thailand, we listened to soothing music. It's good for the soul. You learn how to meditate, especially in the temples which we visited with our local Thai friends. We also learned from every experience - good or bad. We accepted what people have to offer. We gave positive messages to others. We made time for ourselves. It is vital to invest in yourself. We laughed often and enjoyed our achievements!

We lived the moment because tomorrow is another day! "Create a good life" ---this is one secret to your happiness.
